HUTCHINSON, Kan. — Sophomore guard Terin Johnson scored 17 points for the Cardinals in a loss to the Cougars, the 17th ranked team in this week's NJCAA poll, at the Hutchinson Sports Arena.

Dante Sawyer, a transfer guard from San Francisco College, scored 12 points for NIC (1-2), finishing 24 of 62 shooting.

Ring Malith scored 16 points for Barton (2-0).

NIC returns home to face the Lilac City Legends on Thursday.
