Highlanders complete series sweep of Blue Dragons

The McLennan Highlanders completed the series sweep of the Hutchinson Blue Dragons with a 13-6 victory this afternoon. Lucas Kelly picked up the win on the mound for the Highlanders.
 
McLennan began the score with a Mac Rose solo home run over the right-field wall in the bottom of the first.
 
Hutchinson scored two runs in the second. Cody Gunderson singled and Blake Bradford drew a walk. Cooper Wesslund singled to load the bases. Jordan Tucker singled to score Gunderson, and Bradford scored on a fielder's choice by Jon Davis.
 
The Highlanders added three runs in the bottom of the inning. Sam Flores was hit by the pitch and Marcus Smith singled. Brecken Menuet followed with a double to score Flores, and Owen Smith singled to score Smith. Menuet then scored on a ground out by Daniel Harden.
 
The Blue Dragons added a run in the third. Kael Babin singled and stole his way around to third. Gunderson then singled to score Babin.
 
Hutchinson took the lead with three runs in the seventh. Quinn Maher walked and advanced on a sac bunt by Hank Griffin. Babin singled to score Maher. Colin Cymbalista followed with a two-run homer.
 
McLennan responded with five runs in the bottom of the inning to regain the lead. Harden singled and Rose doubled. Deiten Lachance walked, loading the bases. Kelly singled to score Harden and Rose, tying the game. Flores followed with a three-run homer.
 
The Highlanders tacked on four runs in the bottom of the eighth. Owen Smith led off with a home run. Rose singled, Lachance walked and Kelly singled, loading the bases. Flores singled to score Rose and Lachance. McAfee was hit by the pitch, and Kelly scored on a fielder's choice by Marcus Smith.
