Red Ravens Sweep 4-Game Series vs Highland

The Coffeyville Community College Red Raven Baseball Team added four wins to their KJCCC Conference record as they swept the Scotties of Highland CC in a four-game home and away series.  The four victories improved Coffeyville's overall record to 17-7 and 9-3 in KJCCC games.

Game #1 -March 20th, Coffeyville KS - 5-1 Victory

Coffeyville scored three runs in the fifth and two in the sixth to take the first game 5-1.  Red Raven sophomore centerfielder Eric Bacon had two hits including a double along with two RBIs in the game.  Sophomore right-hander Cross Dowd had an excellent outing on the mound holding the Scotties to just five hits over seven innings allowing one earned.

Game #2 - March 20th, Coffeyville KS - 14-12 Victory

Coffeyville jumped out quickly leading Highland 7-1 after three innings.  However, Highland scored six runs in the top of the eighth inning to take a 12-10 lead.  The Ravens then scored four runs in the bottom of the eighth to secure the 14-12 victory.  Sophomore center fielder Eric Bacon stayed hot after the first game, going 2-4 in the second game, including a double, a home run, and four RBIs. Sophomore second baseman Landin Midgett also had four RBIs in the game after going 4 for 5 from the plate.  

Game #3 - March 22nd, Highland KS - 14-2 Victory

Coffeyville scored nine runs in the sixth inning to blow open a semi-close game in favor of the Red Ravens.  Coffeyville pounded out nine hits in the game with Raven centerfielder Eric Bacon hitting a double along with another two RBIs.  Red Raven right-hander Jackson Waggoner improved to a 3-1 record allowing two earned on one hit, seven strikeouts, and three walks.

Game #4 - March 22nd, Highland KS - 10-3 Victory

Coffeyville scored five in the top of the first inning on their way to the 10-3 victory and sweep of the Scotties.  Red Raven freshman designated hitter Shawn Bareno went 3 for 5 from the plate including a double to pace the Coffeyville offense.  Sophomore righty Easton Renn improved to 5-0 on the season after going five innings allowing two earned on seven hits while striking out three and walking two.
