
The Kansas City Kansas Community College softball team swept the Dakota County Technical College Blue Knights with scores of 10-2 and 13-0. In the second game, Lillian Fisher had her first start of the year and completed a no-hitter in her five innings of work. She struck out four Blue Knight batters and walked two while not allowing a single hit or run in the 13-0 win.
In the first game, the Blue Devils scored five runs in the third inning and four runs in the fourth while the lone two Blue Knight runs came in the top of the fourth inning. The first three Blue Devil lead off batters had two hits each. Sidney Sullivan went 2-4 with two runs. Becker went 2-3, scored two teams and had a team-high four RBIs along with a double. Kaitlyn Cowan was clean up and went 2-3 from the plate with two RBI and one run. Kylie Vandervoort had one hit and hit it over the fence to mark her third home run on the season.
Alyssa Droge threw for all five innings, allowed two runs, walked two and struck out six batters in the 25 batters she faced.
In game two, the Blue Devils recorded nine hits and scored 13 runs in just four innings of offense. Due to the 8-run mercy rule, the game ended early and only allowed the Blue Devils to get four opportunities to score. Sullivan went 2-3, scored twice and had a triple. Cowan went 2-3 and brought in a team-high five RBIs along with a double. Ashton Russell, Cassidy Reno and Vandervoort all had two RBIs each.
Sophomore pitcher, Lillian Fisher, had her first start of the season and didn't allow a single Blue Knight hit in her five innings of work. Fisher walked two and struck out four in the 13-0 win. Her only other appearance this season came on March 8 against Kirkwood as she threw for one inning, allowed one run and walked three batters.
