Red Raven Men Hold off the Saints of Seward in 71-62 Victory

The Coffeyville Community College Men's Basketball Team defeated the Seward County Saints 71-62 at home Saturday afternoon.  The win keeps the Ravens' 2021 overall record at a perfect 6-0 and 4-0 in Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference (KJCCC) play.  Dating back to last year, the Ravens are currently riding a 15 game win streak.

Ball security and rebounding helped the Red Ravens survive a cold shooting performance in this game against Seward County.  For the game, Coffeyville was outshot by Seward 46%-35%.  However, the Ravens led the Saints in rebounding (38-29) and turnovers (12-17).  Those combined with strong end of game free throw shooting edged out the 71-62 victory.

Coffeyville sophomore guard Tylor Perry led the Ravens with 22 points on 5-7 shooting overall and 3-5 shooting from three.  Perry also went 9-10 from the charity stripe.  Raven freshman big man Blaise Keita helped out with 20 points and 8 rebounds.  Jalen Smith kicked in 10 points (going 8-8 from the free-throw line).

The Ravens will look to continue their winning streak this coming Wednesday with a road game to Great Bend Kansas to play the Barton Community College Cougars.  Tip-off is set for 7:30 p.m.
