Ravens Earn Some Payback With A 80-67 Defeat of Garden City to Advance to the Region 6 Semifinals

Coffeyville, Kan. -  The #21 NJCAA ranked Coffeyville Community College Red Raven Men's Basketball Team earned a little payback from an earlier season loss as they defeated the Broncbusters of Garden City 80-67 in the quarterfinal round of the 2025 Region 6 Men's Division I Basketball Tournament.  With the victory, Coffeyville improves their season record to 23-8 and earns a spot in the Semifinal round of the Region 6 Tournament where they will face the Cougars of Barton.

It was just a little over a month ago when the Broncbusters visited Nellis Gymnasium and handed the Ravens a 93-79 defeat.  With that loss on their minds, Coffeyville jumped out early in this game and raced out to a 40-22 halftime lead.  Garden City did outscore the Ravens in the second half, but the closest they were able to get was within nine points and the Ravens won going away with the 80-67 victory.

Looking at the stat page, a big decider in this one was Coffeyville's huge advantage on the boards. The Ravens outrebounded Garden City 43-22, which led to 17 second-chance points for Coffeyville.

Game leaders for Coffeyville included sophomore guard Brian Griffith with 18 points, freshman forward Daniel Ntambwe with 12 points and 10 rebounds, and freshman forward Abdul Kuta with 12 points.

Coffeyville advances to the Region 6 Semifinals where they are set to face #14 ranked Barton.  The two schools split their season series with Barton winning on their home court 75-67 on January 18th while Coffeyville beat Barton on the Raven's home court 89-85 on March 5th.  The Coffeyville/Barton Semifinal is set for a 7:30 p.m. tipoff in Gross Coliseum on the campus of Fort Hays State University in Hays Kansas on Friday, March 14th.
