
The Kansas City Kansas Community College women's soccer team (9-0-3) defeated the Dodge City Community College Conquistadors (3-6-2), 4-0 Oct. 2 at the Stryker Sports Complex in Wichita, Kan. The last time the Blue Devils went 12 gamed without a loss was in the 2020-2021 season when they lost the 13th game against Coffeyville.
The Blue Devils midfield was able to control the game as they found several through balls to the forwards and stopped counter attacks that the Conquistadors would try to build. Cora Ellermann finished the day with one goal and two assists from her five shots during the game. Her goal came in the 7th minute. Sierra Montez was able to add to her season total as she put away two goals in the 43rd minute and 69th minute from her seven shots. Kiara Carr finished off the Blue Devil scoring just two minutes later after Montez's last goal. Jaycee Schumann added two assists and dominated on the wide areas of the field. In net, Blue Devil goalkeeper Maria Heuman only saw one shot on goal, saving it.
The next game for the Blue Devils women's soccer team is against Butler Community College at 6 p.m. Oct. 5 at the Butler Community College Soccer field in El Dorado, Kan.
