KJCCC West Baseball Player and Pitcher of the Week, Week 11

KJCCC West Player of the Week: Cameron Cartwright – Seward County Community College
Cameron Cartwright was a leader for the Saints over the past week as Seward County swept the Garden City Broncbusters with a run rule win in three of those games. Cartwright scored 10 runs over the four-game stretch while hitting 8/14 at the plate for an average of .571 while also recording 10 RBIs, 3 2Bs, and 2 HRs during the week. A three-run homer from the sophomore infielder in game three helped the Saints close out the game in run rule fashion as he dominated the third game of the series with 4 runs and 4 RBIs while going .667 at the plate. 

KJCCC West Pitcher of the Week: Kevin Mannell – Cloud County Community College 
Kevin Mannell threw Cloud County's third complete game shutout of the year on Thursday in the series opener with Barton by throwing 99 pitches to work around a five-hit game while shutting Barton out for only the second time this season. Racking up 7 strikeouts to put his total at 64 strikeouts in 46 innings pitched this season, Mannell ranks third in the KJCCC in strikeouts and tied for sixth in wins with six while holding the best ERA in the conference with a 0.98 earned run average. Nationally, Mannell posts the second best ERA in the NJCAA and has allowed just 6 runs to score (5 earned) this season while holding opponents to a .135 batting average.
