KJCCC Baseball East Division Players of the Week - Week 7
COLBY, Kan. – For the second-straight week Johnson County Community College outfielder Bo Shinkle has earned Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference East Division Player of the Week and is joined by Neosho County pitcher Jaret Myers to earn week seven honors.
Bo Shinkle – Johnson County (KJCCC Baseball East Division Player of the Week)
Johnson County sophomore outfielder Bo Shinkle helped lead the eighth-ranked Cavaliers to big sweep over Highland this past weekend, batting .643 on the week (9-for-14) with a double, three home runs, nine runs scored, three stolen bases, and 11 RBI. In the weekend doubleheader against the Scotties, Shinkle blasted a three-run homer to help JCCC comeback for an 11-10 win and followed in game two with a three-run shot and a sacrifice RBI in a 14-1 win. For the season, Shinkle is batting .493 with 28 RBI.
Jaret Myers – Neosho County (KJCCC Baseball East Division Pitcher of the Week)
Myers earned his third win of the season after throwing a seven-inning complete game in a 3-1 Neosho County win over number nine-ranked Cowley College. In his outing, Myers allowed just one run and struck out five while holding Cowley to one or fewer runs for just the second time in this season in 20 games played for the Tigers. Myers is 3-0 in the season, and 2-0 in KJCCC play with a 2.77 ERA against conference foes.
