KJCCC Baseball West Division Players of the Week - Week 7
COLBY, Kan. – Another series sweep in Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference play for the Cloud County Community College baseball team was led by this week’s Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference West Division Baseball Players of the Week Austin Coyle and Noah Bourgeois.
Austin Coyle – Cloud County (KJCCC Baseball West Division Player of the Week)
Cloud County sophomore outfielder Austin Coyle had a massive week, including hitting for the cycle in game three of a four-game series against Dodge City, helping extend Cloud County's current win streak to 11 games, the longest win streak for the program under head coach Eric Gilliland. Coyle hit .500 for the week with a .640 on-base percentage and a 1.000 slugging percentage. The sophomore had 11 hits, including six extra-base hits, 13 runs scored, and eight RBI in 20 at-bats which included putting together an exceptional game at the plate in game one of a doubleheader at Dodge City by going 4-for-6 with a single, a double, a triple and a home run to hit for the cycle. Coyle finished the game with seven RBI and four runs scored and has raised his batting average to .386 with a .759 slugging percentage, guiding the T-Birds to an 8-0 conference start for the second consecutive season.
Noah Bourgeois – Cloud County (KJCCC Baseball West Division Pitcher of the Week)
Sophomore right-hander Noah Bourgeois earned two wins on the mound this week for Cloud County, throwing seven scoreless innings while allowing just two hits with ten strikeouts. Bourgeois is the first three-game winner for Cloud County this season, which is currently on an 11-game winning streak and out to an 8-0 start to Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference play for the second consecutive season.
