NJCAA Division 1 Baseball Week 1 Poll
CHARLOTTE, NC – With fluctuations of records ranging from as many as 21 games played to as few as five games played, the NJCAA has released the first NJCAA Division 1 Baseball Top 25 poll of the regular season with three Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference teams holding rankings.
Among the teams from the KJCCC to have a ranking after a month of action in the regular season is Cowley College as the Tigers have used a 4-2 start to their season to move up two spots to number 18 in the first regular season poll after sweeping Northeast Texas and dropping two of three games to number seven ranked McClennan Community College. Three spots back of Cowley in the rankings is number 21 ranked Hutchinson Community College with the Blue Devils off to a 5-0 start this season with a doubleheader sweep over Hesston College and a three-game road sweep of Rose State College. Johnson County is also ranked in the week one poll, holding the number 22 ranking with 12 games on their record as part of an 8-4 overall record with two wins over Crowder College who is receiving votes as part of a four-game split with the Roughriders in early February.
As the weather begins to warm up across the state and the schedule moves into the month of March, teams across the league are expected to start seeing more games put towards their records as 15 games are scheduled for Monday afternoon to kick off an extremely busy week of action. In total, 96 games are scheduled across the 18 league schools this week as teams prepare for the beginning of conference play which is set to commence next week.
