Sophomore Michael Scott had a tremendous weekend in helping the
Blue Dragons to a four-game sweep of Cloud County. For the weekend,
Scott hit .750 (6-8) with a slugging percentage of 1.750. He had
three doubles and triple and a two-run home run that tied Game 1 in
HCC’s 4-2 victory over the Thunderbirds. Scott tied a career
high with three hits in the third game of the series, with two
doubles. While he didn’t hit in Game 4, Scott was still a
major factor, pitching his first victory of the season. Scott
allowed one unearned run and two hits over six innings, striking
out four and walking only one.

Higgins pitched 11 scoreless innings during his start against
Butler on Saturday. The game went all the way to the 13th inning
before a run was scored and finally the game was decided in the
15th inning. Twice Higgins pitched out of jams with a runner on
third and less than two outs.
