KJCCC FOOTBALL PLAYERS OF THE WEEK - WEEK 9

Players from Dodge City and Hutchinson Community Colleges were named Jayhawk Conference Football Players of the Week on Tuesday.

Dodge City receiver Curtis Rearden III was named the Offensive Player of the Week and Conquistador freshman Sonny Semeatu was named Special Teams Player of the Week. Hutchinson's Daniel Brown was named the Defensive Player of the Week for the second time this season.

OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK - Curtis Rearden III, Dodge City
Dodge City football beat a Top 10-ranked team for the first time since 2015. The Conquistadors had the most yards in a single game under Head Coach, Terry Karg with 451 yards and got contributions from several guys. Curtis Rearden III made a pair of spectacular one-handed catches finishing with six catches for 129 yards and two touchdowns. Rearden snagged 55 and 13-yard touchdowns while accounting for 42 percent of the Conqs receiving yards.

DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK - Daniel Brown, Hutchinson
Blue Dragon sophomore linebacker Daniel Brown improved his nation-leading quarterback sack total to 13 with three sacks and 3.5 tackles for loss to lead the No. 1 Blue Dragons to a 27-18 victory over Garden City Saturday at Gowans Stadium. Brown finished with six total tackles, including five solo stops. Brown has had eight sacks in the last three games. He leads the nation in both sacks and tackles for loss.

SPECIAL TEAMS PLAYER OF THE WEEK - Sonny Semeatu, Dodge City
The Conquistadors blocked a field goal attempt by Iowa Central early in the second half as Sonny Semeatu got his hand on the ball to block the attempt. He added four tackles with two sacks on the day also.
