2024 KJCCC Division 1 Men's Soccer Players of the Week - Week 4
COLBY, Kan. – Dodge City’s Cristobal Juan Berrios and Seward County’s Bruno Mestres have earned Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference Division 1 Men’s Soccer Player of the Week honors for their performances throughout week four of the 2024 season last week.
COLBY, Kan. – Dodge City’s Cristobal Juan Berrios and Seward County’s Bruno Mestres have earned Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference Division 1 Men’s Soccer Player of the Week honors for their performances throughout week four of the 2024 season last week.
Cristobal Juan Berrios (Dodge City) – Dodge City men's soccer picked up a pair of road victories against KJCCC foes in Garden City and Seward County. Berrios tallied the game-winning goal in the 88th minute on a header against rival Garden City to lift the Conquistadors to a 3-2 win against their former head coach and rival Broncobusters. Berrios was an anchor at center back in both matches during the week playing all 90 minutes in each match and helping lead the Conquistadors to two big road wins in conference play.
Bruno Mestres (Seward County) – Mestres continued his dominance in front of the goal with another week of double figures saves with 12 on the week. He suited up in non-conference action against Kansas Wesleyan where he recorded two saves to keep the Coyotes scoreless in the 55 minutes he spent in net while he was on the field for all 90 minutes against Dodge City where he turned away 10 shots on goal after allowing just one goal in the first four minutes.
