CHARLOTTE, NC – No changes for Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference men’s soccer schools in the latest national rankings as the NJCAA Division 1 and 2 Men’s Soccer polls have three conference teams ranked in the week eight polls released on Monday, October 21st.
With no changes occurring, all three teams to be ranked this week within the KJCCC are featured in the top 10 of their respective polls with the NJCAA Division 2 Men’s Soccer poll having Neosho County as the highest-ranked team of any conference school by maintaining their number five ranking following a pair of wins last week en route to clinching the KJCCC Division 2 men’s soccer regular season title. Johnson County is ranked number eight again this week as the Cavaliers concluded their regular season schedule this past Saturday with a 2-0 road win at Southeast Community College to finish off a 2-0 week to enter postseason play with a 13-3-0 overall record. The lone ranked team from the KJCCC within the NJCAA Division 1 men’s soccer poll is Cowley Community College as the Tigers are ranked seventh again this week after clinching the KJCCC Division 1 men’s soccer regular season title last Wednesday with a 3-0 win at Coffeyville before earning a 2-2 draw at Barton. Cowley will conclude their regular season schedule at home on Wednesday by hosting the number two team in the KJCCC standings in Kansas City Kansas as the Blue Devils are two points ahead of third-place Barton and have already clinched a home playoff game to open postseason play.
In addition to Cowley hosting KCKCC in a battle of the top two teams in the KJCCC D1 standings on Wednesday, five other games will take place across the conference including Pratt hosting Central in a match that could have NJCAA Region 6/9 postseason tournament seeding implications. Five more matches will take place on Saturday including a ranked non-conference matchup between number five Neosho County and number 15 Heartland Community College to finish out the regular season on the Division 2 side of play.
