Barton's Masaki Tsuji, Pedro Lisboa Named NJCAA D1 Men's Soccer Players of the Week
CHARLOTTE, NC - Helping Barton Community College to a win last week over nationally ranked Lewis & Clark Community College, Cougar men’s soccer players Masaki Tsuji and Pedro Lisboa have each earned NJCAA Division 1 Men’s Soccer Player of the Week accolades.
Masaki Tsuji (Barton) – NJCAA D1 Men’s Soccer Player of the Week
Masaki Tsuji continued his strong start to the season, scoring twice to help number nine Barton defeat number 11 Lewis & Clark 3-1 on Saturday. The freshman forward delivered a pair of second-half goals, with his first standing as the eventual game-winner. Tsuji recorded his second multi-point outing of the year, totaling four points while converting two of four shots and placing three on frame.
Pedro Lisboa (Barton) – NJCAA D1 Men’s Soccer Goalkeeper of the Week
Pedro Lisboa came up big in net for number nine Barton, recording seven saves to backstop a 3-1 victory over number 11 Lewis & Clark on Saturday. The freshman goalkeeper turned aside several quality chances to post an .875 save percentage across 90 minutes, securing his first collegiate win while anchoring the Cougars' defensive effort.
