Siara had a hand in all four of our goals this week in leading us
to two victories. She opened the scoring at Independence on
Thursday and then assisted on the second goal before adding a
second of her own. Saturday she lead us in attempts on goal before
putting in her third goal of the week. Siara leads the team in
goals (5) and points (13) and is second on the team in assists (3).

Nelson Landaverde scored a pair of goals on the week to help the
Panthers improve to 10-4-1 on the season. Friday night against
Pratt, he scored a goal late to put it out of reach and secure the
win for Neosho. Then Sunday against Cloud County he broke a 1-1 tie
with his team leading 15th goal of the year in the 82nd minute to
give Neosho a key Jayhawk Conference win. For the season the
Panthers are 7-0-1 in games that he scores a goal, and 2-4-0 when

Stephanie Lomas didn’t face any shots in her 45 minutes of
action last Tuesday but made three big saves Saturday as the No. 20
ranked Lady Cougars tied at No. 14 Johnson County Community
College. Lomas’ two surrendered goals came via
backside goals, the first off a free kick and the second off a
cross. In conference play Lomas has only allowed seven
goals and has recorded four shutouts, currently in third place
all-time in the Barton history books.

Mauricio Vargas saved eleven shots on goal last week with
only two goals against, both coming via the penalty kick. His
continued solid play in goal has helped the Cougars climb back up
to a first place tie in the conference standings after an early
season loss. For the season Vargas has logged most of the
time in goal for the Cougars, recording four shutouts making 63
saves with an .850 goals against average and stands 4th all-time in
