KJCCC Men's Track & Field Athletes of the Week - Indoor Week 3
Indoor track and field season is underway and week three of KJCCC Athletes of the Week have been awarded.
MEN'S TRACK Athlete of the Week
Jared Sylvester (Neosho County) - Jared qualified for the NJCAA National Championships with his performance in the 600yd race at the Washburn Rust Buster, as the performance beat the school record and moved Jared up to #14 in the Nation with his converted 600m time of 1:21.09 (1:12.40 600yd). He followed up that performance once again showing off his range by running 21.78 in the 200m race and posting a split of 49.45 in the leadoff leg of the 4x400m relay.
MEN'S FIELD Athlete of the Week
Dimetre Brown (Hutchinson) - Earned first place in the long jump at the Washburn Rust Buster with a leap of 7.41m (24'3.75"). The mark is a National qualifying mark in long jump, Rust Buster meet record, and lifetime best.
