Hutchinson's David Thid Named NJCAA Men's Indoor Track and Field Athlete of the Week
CHARLOTTE, NC. – For the second time in three weeks, a Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference Men’s Indoor Track and Field Athlete of the Week has gone on to win NJCAA Indoor Track and Field Athlete of the Week honors with Hutchinson Community College sophomore David Thid adding national honors to his awards list this season.

Blue Dragon Sophomore David Thid broke the oldest record remaining on the Blue Dragon indoor track record books, breaking a 38-year record in the men's 400 meters to win the Washburn Open with a national qualifying time of 47.16 seconds. Thid also ran the anchor leg of the Blue Dragons' fourth-place 4x400 relay team that qualified for nationals with the second-fastest Blue Dragon time in team history of 3:14.89. Thid's time in the 400 meters is currently the fifth-fastest in the NJCAA this season and fastest non-altitude converted time.
