COLBY, Kan. – Opening his 2025 season with a national qualifying mark and event win in the weight throw, Garden City Community College sophomore Rhet Punt has been named Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference Track and Field Men’s Field Athlete of the Week.

Punt booked his ticket to the NJCAA Indoor Track and Field National Championships in the men’s weight throw, opening his season up with a throw of 17.46 meters (57 ft. - 3.5 in.). The mark is the fourth best mark this season for the sophomore who finished fifth last season as the NJCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships in the event.
