KJCCC Men's Indoor Track and Field Athletes of the Week - Week 3
COLBY, Kan. – A pair of new meet records and events wins have led to Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference Men’s Indoor Track and Field Athlete of the Week awards for Fort Scott sophomore Dekell Minor and Garden City sophomore Rhet Punt for week three of the 2025 indoor track and field season.
Dekell Minor (Fort Scott) – KJCCC Men’s Indoor Track Athlete of the Week
Minor set a new meet record at the NAIA/JUCO Challenge at Pittsburg State in the 60 meters with a personal-best time of 6.66 seconds, which is the second-best time in the NJCAA this season. Minor also went on to win the 200 meters at the meet in a time of 21.69 seconds.
Rhet Punt (Garden City) – KJCCC Men’s Indoor Field Athlete of the Week
Rhet Punt furthers his own school record to 18.56 meters (60 ft. – 10.75 in.) in the weight throw. The throw set a new meet record while winning the event by over five feet over the next closest competitor and is the second-best mark in the event in the NJCAA this season. The sophomore also competed in the shot put, placing eighth.
