KJCCC Men's Outdoor Track and Field Athletes of the Week - Week 1
COLBY, Kan. – Event wins for Pratt’s Tavares Duckett and Hesston’s Jaylon Hatcher to open the NJCAA outdoor track and field season have led to the first Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference Men’s Outdoor Track and Field Athlete of the Week honors of the 2025 season.
Tavares Duckett (Pratt) – KJCCC Men’s Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week
Duckett ran a personal-best time in the 100-meter dash at the Dean Pryor Invitational by winning the event in a time of 10.29 seconds to beat a 29-runner field and set the best time in the NJCAA outdoor track season this year. After winning the 100-meter dash, Duckett ran the anchor leg of the 4x100-meter relay for Pratt and helped the Beavers finish second with a time of 41.67 seconds as the top finishing team from the NJCAA in the meet.
Jaylon Hatcher (Hesston) – KJCCC Men’s Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week
Hatcher took home first place in the long jump at the Dean Pryor Invitational in his first collegiate outdoor meet. He also placed ninth in the 100m dash (10.79) and seventh in the 200m dash (21.67).
