Cloud County Community College runners Hebtamu Geta and Patricia Koma earned Jayhawk Conference Cross Country Runners of the Week honors after their performances at the Tabor College Cottonwood Challenge last Saturday.

Geta was the top collegiate finisher for the men posing a time of 25:02.9. This is the third time in 2020 that Geta, a sophomore from Houston, Texas, was named the KJCCC Men's Runner of the Week. Geta helped the Thunderbird men finish as team runner-up.

Koma won her second race of the season for the Thunderbirds. She won the Cottonwood Challenge with a time of 19:32.6, nearly 14 seconds ahead of the second-place runner. Koma also helped the Thunderbirds win the team championship. This is the second Runner of the Week honor for the Cloud County sophomore from Wichita.
