KJCCC Cross Country Runners of the Week - Week 2

COLBY, Kan. – Finishing as the top NJCAA runners in their respective races at the 2024 Wichita State University JK Gold Classic have led to Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference Cross Country Runners of the Week for Cloud County’s N Vanee Anchike and Colby’s Sibonelo Khumalo.

N Vanee Anchike (Cloud County) – Leading the T-Birds and all other NJCAA runners in her first race of the season, Anchike ran a time of 18:28.61 to finish 19th at the Clapp Cross Country Course in Wichita. In a meet that featured numerous D1 teams, Anchike finished as the only NJCAA runner in the top 25 of the 112-runner field.

Sibonelo Khumalo (Colby) – Khumalo was the men’s individual meet champion finishing the 6000-meter course with a time of 17:54, a course record at the Clapp Cross Country Course. As a team, Colby finished 5th and was the highest-finishing NJCAA team as the Trojans had two of the three NJCAA runners to finish in the top 25 of the 130-runner field.
