KJCCC Division 1 Softball Players of the Week - Week 6
COLBY, Kan. – For the second-straight week, the Barton Community College softball team swept a pair of Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference doubleheaders with players Chloe Enslinger and Meleia Ingram leading the way to earn KJCCC D1 Softball Player of the Week honors.
Chloe Enslinger – Barton (KJCCC Division 1 Softball Player of the Week)
Chloe Enslinger batted .700 in Barton's 4-0 conference week, increasing her league lead in home runs after adding four home runs with 12 runs driven to help the Cougars get off to an 8-0 start in KJCCC play. The sophomore catcher from Derby, Kansas began the week with three of her five hits leaving the yard against the wind with nine RBI at Garden City before concluding the week on Sunday by going two-for-four with three RBI, including a no-doubt solo shot to help Barton sweep Dodge City.
Meleia Ingram - Barton (KJCCC Division 1 Softball Pitcher of the Week)
Freshman pitcher Meleia Ingram struck out 14 batters in 11 innings this past week, earning a pair of KJCCC victories. Throwing four innings with three strikeouts in Barton's run-rule victory at Garden City, the reigning conference pitcher of the week followed with an 11-strikeout performance Sunday against Dodge City to tie her career high in strikeouts. Improving to 6-2 on the season, Ingram leads the conference at 9.24 strikeouts per game with 33 strikeouts in her four league victories, helping Barton to an 8-0 start in conference play.
