KJCCC Division 2 Softball Players of the Week - Week 2
COLBY, Kan. – A .750 batting average in the opening week of the season for Cowley College’s Ezra Arredondo and a complete game pitching win for Hesston College’s Sydney Jackson has led to Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference Division 2 Softball Player of the Week honors for the first time this season.
Ezra Arredondo – Cowley (KJCCC Division 2 Softball Player of the Week)
Arredondo helped Cowley to a 2-2 week to open their 2025 season with both losses coming to D1 #17 Seminole State College. Recording a hit in all four games which included three multi-hit games, Arredondo hit .750 for the week and had a .769 on base percentage while driving in five runs and scoring seven times.
Sydney Jackson – Hesston (KJCCC Division 2 Softball Pitcher of the Week)
Sydney Jackson started off her sophomore season on the right foot pitching a complete game win for the Larks in their 2025 season opener against Frank Phillips College. Jackson allowed only one earned run in the game on six hits and four walks and made a relief appearance the following day in the final game of the series to finish the week with eight innings pitched and a 2.63 ERA.
