KJCCC Division 2 Softball Players of the Week - Week 6
COLBY, Kan. – Helping their respective teams get either into the latest NJCAA Division 2 Softball rankings or just outside the rankings and receiving votes, Neosho County Community College infielder Brinly Bancroft and Cowley College pitcher Ezra Arredondo have earned Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference Division 2 Softball Player of the Week honors.
Brinly Bancroft – Neosho County (KJCCC Division 2 Softball Player of the Week)
Bancroft had a big week for Neosho County, helping the Panthers pick up four wins by hitting .444 at the plate with five home runs and 13 RBI. Starting her week with three home runs in a doubleheader against Northern Oklahoma-Tonkawa, Bancroft added two more homers over the weekend as NCCC played four games in Branson, MO, and went 3-1.
Ezra Arredondo – Cowley (KJCCC Division 2 Softball Pitcher of the Week)
Arredondo made two appearances this past week in the circle for Cowley, picking up two victories while not allowing any runs in nine innings of work. Against Seminole State (OK), Arredondo threw five shutout innings to earn a complete-game victory before getting the start two days later against Missouri State-West Plains and throwing four shutout innings with five strikeouts to pick up the win. This season, Arredondo is 5-1 with 19 strikeouts in 29.2 innings pitched and a 1.65 ERA.
