NJCAA Softball Rankings Feature Movement, Additions From KJCCC To D2 Poll
NJCAA Division 1 Softball Week 3 Poll | NJCAA Division 2 Softball Week 3 Poll
CHARLOTTE, NC – A newcomer to the NJCAA Division 2 softball poll from the Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference along with another team receiving votes sees the KJCCC with four total ranked teams among the latest NJCAA Softball Division 1 and Division 2 Softball polls released on Monday, March 10th.
Of the four ranked teams, three occupy spots in the latest Division 2 poll with one more Division 2 team from the conference receiving votes while the Division 1 poll continues to feature just one KJCCC school.
Both ranked Division 2 teams from last week from the KJCCC moved up in the rankings as Johnson County Community College made a two-spot move up the rankings to 16th while Kansas City Kansas made a four-spot improvement up to 19th as the Cavaliers collected four wins last week as part of a six-game weekend against teams that were either ranked or receiving votes in both polls while the Blue Devils went 4-2 in a six-game slate against Kirkwood Community College and Bryant and Stratton (WI). New to the Division 2 rankings is Cowley College as the Tigers picked up three wins at the Branson Grand Slam in Branson, Missouri with wins over Missouri State-West Plains, Parkland College, and Rose State College. Just outside the rankings this week but receiving votes is Neosho County with the Panthers holding an 8-6 record after going 3-1 at the Branson Garnd Slam with their lone loss coming to top five raked Des Moines Area Community College.
In the Division 1 poll, Butler remains the lone ranked team from the KJCCC as the Grizzlies are 9-1 overall following an extra-innings defeat to Hutchinson on the road before picking up three straight wins to end the week. Butler has been ranked number 14 in each of the three regular season polls this season that have been released as well as the preseason poll released back on January 21.
