Latest NJCAA Softball Rankings See Little Change For KJCCC Teams
NJCAA Division 1 Softball Week 2 Poll | NJCAA Division 2 Softball Week 2 Poll
CHARLOTTE, NC – With the NJCAA softball calendar turning over to March, the latest NJCAA Division 1 and Division 2 softball top 25 polls find little change for the Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference with three teams ranked in the latest rankings released on Monday, March 3rd.
All three teams ranked this week were also ranked last week, with two of the three ranked teams in the NJCAA Division 2 poll and one team representing the KJCCC in the Division 1 poll. Johnson County moved up one spot up to 18th after sweeping Indian Hills Community College in their only action of the week last week while Kansas City Kansas Community College fell three spots down to 23rd after going 2-2 to open their season with a pair of home defeats to McCook Community College before sweeping State Fair Community College to close out the weekend.
The lone KJCCC Division 1 team to not start conference play last week, Butler Community College remains the only conference team to be ranked in the Division 1 poll by maintaining their number 14 ranking after going 2-0 last week to improve to 6-0. In their only games played last week, Butler took a pair of home games over Labette Community College as the Grizzlies will open KJCCC play on Thursday afternoon at Hutchinson Community College.
A busy start to the week will see 12 games take place across the conference on Monday, along with a single doubleheader being played by Labette on Tuesday, followed by a 10-game slate for Wednesday. Six games, including the conference opening doubleheader for Butler, highlight Thursday’s schedule, with 42 games scheduled across the weekend, which includes three conference doubleheaders in D1 action.
