JANIYA DAVIS - Highland
The No. 2 Highland women remained unbeaten after beating Bethany JV and Southwestern CC last week to move to 11-0 and sophomore, Janiya helped lead the way. Davis notched double figures with 15 points and had a career-high seven steals to open the week in a route of Bethany JV. The sophomore then posted a career high in points in the Scotties 11th win of the season as they beat Southwestern CC with Davis dropping 30 points. Her career-high 30 points came on 11 of 15 shooting from the floor, 3 of 6 from 3-point range and 5 of 5 from the free-throw line, while adding nine rebounds for nearly a double-double and rounded the night off with six steals, two assists and two blocks. Davis leads the team in scoring averaging (19 points per game), having scored double figures in 9 of the 10 games played this year, with five games over 20 points. She is shooting 57.9 percent from the floor, 44 percent from 3-point range and 79.7 percent from the charity stripe, while averaging 4.9 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 2.7 steals per game. In the NJCAA she ranks 19th in field-goal percentage and 17th in 3-point field goal percentage.
