KJCCC Division II Women's Basketball Player of the Week - Week 8

The No. 2-ranked Highland Women's Basketball team got back to action out of the holiday break with three games to open the 2019 calendar and the Scotties went 2-1 and moved to 14-1 on the season. Highland at the MAC New Year's Classic went 1-1 beating Moberly and falling to Mineral Area and then wrapped up last week with a commanding win over the McPherson JV. Scottie sophomore, Tuana Dinc helped lead the Scotties as she posted six points, six rebounds, two assists and three blocks against Moberly and followed that up with a 20-point showing on 8 of 14 shooting, including 4 of 4 from 3-point range in the loss to Moberly and added six rebounds. Dinc notched her second career double-double finished with 15 points and 11 rebounds in the win over McPherson JV as she shot 6 of 12 from the floor in the game. Her 11 rebounds matched her career high. Last week she averaged 13.7 points per game and 8.3 rebounds while shooting 48 percent from the floor and going 5 of 8 from 3-point range. On the season Dinc is averaging 12.6 points per game, while shooting 49.7 percent from the floor, 35.3 percent from 3-point range and adding 7.3 rebounds, 1.5 assists and two steals per game.
