Merveille Nkoyock led all scorers in Independence's 69-62 upset of nationally-ranked No. 8 Butler. Her 34 points were nearly half of the Pirates' point total. Against the Grizzlies, Merveille also shot 45% from the three-point line, knocking down 5 threes, along with grabbing 8 rebounds, one assist, and dishing 3 assists. 

In the Pirates' second conference win of the week and 10^th overall win of the season, Merveille scored 19 points against Northwest Kansas Tech. She continued her dominant work on the boards, snagging another 9 rebounds, while snatching 3 steals. Against the Mavericks, Merveille also blocked 4 shots and dished out 3 assists.

For the week, Merveille shot 76% from the free-throw line, knocking down 19 total free throws, while averaging 26.5 points through two games.
