CHARLOTTE, NC – After earning her second-straight Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference Women’s Basketball Player of the Week honors on Tuesday, Dodge City Community College forward Shorna Preston has been named NJCAA Division 1 Women’s Basketball National Player of the Week for week four of the 2024-25 season.

Dodge City opened KJCCC play 2-0 beating rival Garden City on the road and topping Cloud County at home. Shorna Preston continued her monster start to the season with two more double-doubles giving her seven in eight games this season. Against Garden City, Preston recorded 14 points on six-of-eight shooting adding 12 rebounds, seven assists, two steals, and two blocks. The sophomore followed that up with 11 points against Cloud County and matched her career-high with 15 rebounds along with six assists, four steals, and two blocks. She ranks ninth in the NJCAA in total rebounds (90), 12th in rebounds per game (11.3), and 18th in blocks (11).
