KJCCC Women's Basketball Players of the Week - Week 13
COLBY, Kan. – Career weeks with monster performances from Barton Community College’s Vivian Onugha and Highland Community College’s Cameron McNamara have led to Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference Women’s Basketball Player of the Week honors for week 13 of the 2024-25 season.
Vivian Onugha – Barton (KJCCC Division 1 Women’s Basketball Player of the Week)
Despite the constant focus of opposing defenses, Barton's Vivian Onugha continued her dominance for the Cougars with a pair of double doubles as BCC split a pair of conference games last week. In Wednesday's rough result hosting Butler, Onugha was the lone Cougar to reach double-figures with a team leading three-steals, 11-points, and 11-rebound in a home loss. Saturday at Pratt, Onugha poured in a career-high tying 29 points on 65 percent shooting and grabbed 22 rebounds moving into sole possession of third slot in program single season and career lists.
Cameron McNamara – Highland (KJCCC Division 2 Women’s Basketball Player of the Week)
McNamara was dominant in Highland's only contest of the week, picking up the third triple-double recorded in program history, with 26 points, 11 rebounds, and 10 steals against number 23 Neosho County. The current KJCCC leader in scoring (20.3 points per game), McNamara also leads the conference in total blocks (57) and made field goals (188) while ranking fourth nationally in field goals, eighth in total scoring (468 points), and ninth in total blocks.
