KJCCC Women's Basketball Players of the Week - Week 16
COLBY, Kan. – The newest member of the Hutchinson Community College women’s basketball 1,000-point club Hailey Jackson and Johnson County Community College forward Yar Manyiel have earned Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference Women’s Basketball Player of the Week honors for week 16.
Hailey Jackson – Hutchinson (KJCCC Division 1 Women’s Basketball Player of the Week)
Hutchinson sophomore forward Hailey Jackson joined the Blue Dragon 1,000-point Club and posted a career high in a 2-0 week for the number 11 ranked Blue Dragons. Jackson posted her 10th double-double of the season with a career-high 33 points and 10 rebounds in a 58-50 victory over Seward County on Saturday. In the process, she reached the career 1,000-point mark. For the week, Jackson averaged 22.5 points and 9.0 rebounds and continues to lead the KJCCC in scoring at 18.6 points per game.
Yar Manyiel – Johnson County (KJCCC Division 2 Women’s Basketball Player of the Week)
Johnson County sophomore forward Yar Manyiel posted a double-double of 10 points and 11 rebounds to help lead the Cavaliers to an 82-33 win at Hesston and complete an undefeated regular season at 30-0. It was Manyiel's third straight double-double and seventh of the season as the sophomore averaged 9.1 points and 8.4 rebounds per game during the regular season.
