KJCCC Women's Basketball Players of the Week - Week 8
COLBY, Kan. – Starting the 2025 portion of the 2024-25 season the way that things left off in December, the Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference Women’s Basketball Players of the Week are once again Hailey Jackson (Hutchinson) and Cameron McNamara (Highland) for Week 8 of the award season.
Hailey Jackson – Hutchinson (KJCCC Division 1 Women’s Basketball Player of the Week)
A sophomore forward from Tulsa, OK, Jackson posted her seventh double-double of the season and sank two go-ahead free throws with 1.2 second remaining in No. 1 Hutchinson's 62-60 victory over Cowley on Saturday at the Sports Arena. Jackson, the KJCCC's leading scorer, had 18 points and 14 rebounds and went 10 of 11 from the free-throw line against the Tigers, Hutchinson's only game played last week. With Hutchinson trailing by two points, Jackson tied the game with 48.4 seconds to play in the second half with two free throws.
Cameron McNamara – Highland (KJCCC Division 2 Women’s Basketball Player of the Week)
McNamara picked up her third double-double of the season as she led Highland to a comeback win over North Platte Community College on Saturday to give the Scotties a season sweep over the Knights and preserve HCC's perfect 15-0 start to the season. The Downingtown, Pennsylvania sophomore is ranked fifth in the NJCAA in scoring with 312 points and her 126 FGs are good for third nationally. McNamara also ranks fourth nationally in blocks with 36, with all three figures leading KJCCC Division 2.
