NJCAA Division 1 Women’s Basketball Week 7 Poll | NJCAA Division 2 Women’s Basketball Week 7 Poll
CHARLOTTE, NC – Following nearly a month since the last NJCAA women’s basketball polls were released, new rankings have officially come out with seven Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference teams ranked or receiving votes with three teams ranked in the top three of their respective rankings in the week seven edition of the NJCAA Division 1 and 2 Women’s Basketball Top 25 polls released on Monday, January 13th.
Both teams that are ranked in the latest NJCAA Division 1 poll are ranked inside the top three with Hutchinson continuing their lockdown of the top spot after a pair of road wins last week while Dodge City inched their way up to number three following a pair of double-digit victories last week as both teams look towards a Saturday afternoon showdown in Dodge City later this week. Joining the Blue Dragons and the Conquistadors in the poll is Coffeyville who is once again receiving votes for the first time in three renditions of the poll as the Red Ravens have won each of their last two games which includes a 12 point road win at Seward County this past Saturday.
A couple of changes also occurred for KJCCC within the NJCAA Division 2 women’s basketball poll as both Johnson County (number two) and Allen (number 11) maintain their ranking from the last poll that was released on December 16th while Highland remains unbeaten at 16-0 to move up one spot to number six as the Scotties are 2-0 since coming out of the holiday break with a road win at North Platte and home win over Hesston. Neosho County remains ranked in the top 25 but drops four spots down to number 24 after suffering their first loss since November 9th to snap an eight-game winning streak with a 99-66 defeat at Johnson County this past weekend.
A busy week ahead has already begun with Cloud County and Garden City playing a rare Monday afternoon tilt to make up their game from January 4th that was postponed due to weather as 22 games will take place across the conference this week. Following the lone non-conference game on the schedule this week with Neosho County and Crowder on Tuesday, a 10-game slate on Wednesday will be highlighted by Dodge City heading to Coffeyville and Neosho County hosting Highland before another pair of key matchups on Saturday afternoon with the Conquistadors hosting Hutchinson at 1 PM and Johnson County hosting Highland at 2 PM in top-10 showdowns.
