Eight KJCCC Women's Basketball Teams Ranked In Final January NJCAA Polls
NJCAA Division 1 Women’s Basketball Week 9 Poll | NJCAA Division 2 Women’s Basketball Week 9 Poll
CHARLOTTE, NC – As teams prepare to enter the final full month of the regular season next week, the latest NJCAA Division 1 and 2 Women’s Basketball Top-25 polls feature eight Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference teams with four teams represented in each of the two polls.
Seven of the eight teams from the KJCCC in this week’s poll were also ranked in last week’s poll as Butler Community College once again jumps into the group of teams receiving votes in the latest NJCAA Division 1 poll as only three of the seven that were ranked last week hold their same ranking.
One spot changes for each of the three ranked teams from the conference come in the NJCAA Division 1 women’s basketball poll with Dodge City coming in at number five and Hutchinson at number six while Coffeyville makes a one spot improvement up to number 22 following a pair of home wins last week. Winners of three straight games and four of their last six contests to solidify their spot among the top four teams in the conference, Butler is back among those receiving votes this week and is one of five teams just outside the top 25 getting consideration from voters.
Two of the four ranked teams from the KJCCC in the NJCAA Division 2 women’s basketball poll have new rankings this week as Johnson County holds steady at number two while sitting two games clear of all other teams in the conference with a 5-0 mark in league play. Allen is also unchanged from last week following a pair of games against ranked foes as the Red Devils fell to Johnson County before winning at Highland to finish the week with a 1-1 mark. Despite the loss to Allen, Highland drops just three spots to remain inside the top 10 at number 10 this week with an 18-2 overall record while Neosho County earned two victories last week to make a two-spot jump up to number 23 in this week’s poll.
Action within the conference for the week has already begun with Independence defeating Pratt on Monday evening ahead of a 10-game slate on Wednesday evening that will see six of the eight ranked teams face conference foes on the road. After a single non-conference game on Thursday evening, another 10 games are scheduled for Saturday which is highlighted by Butler hosting number five Dodge City in El Dorado.
