KJCCC D1 Women's Hoops Teams Unchanged In Latest Top 25, Two D2 Teams Move Up In Rankings
NJCAA Division 1 Women’s Basketball Week 10 Poll | NJCAA Division 2 Women’s Basketball Week 10 Poll
CHARLOTTE, NC – No changes for the four Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference schools in the latest NJCAA Division 1 Women’s Basketball Top 25 poll is paired with changes for two of the four conference representatives in the latest NJCAA Division 2 Women’s Basketball Top 25 polls as eight teams continue to leave their marks on the Week 10 polls released on Monday, February 3rd.
For a second-straight week, seven of the eight teams featured from the KJCCC are ranked with Butler Community College receiving votes for a second-straight week in the Division 1 poll after picking up a home win over Seward County before pushing Dodge City to overtime in a 72-65 loss.
With there being no changes in the Division 1 poll for KJCCC schools, Dodge City remains the top ranked team from the conference by holding the number five ranking just ahead of Hutchinson Community College as the two are a combined 41-3 this season and 30-2 in the KJCCC standings. Also ranked is Coffeyville as the Red Ravens picked up a road win over cross county foe Independence last week in their only action of the week ahead of a big matchup with Hutchinson inside Nellis Hall on Wednesday night.
Johnson County holds steady in their spot in the latest Division 2 poll as the Cavaliers are ranked number two where they have been all season behind reigning National Champion Kirkwood Community College. Both schools hold 23-0 records and are part of a trio of three unbeaten teams this season that make up the top three in the latest poll along with Union College (NJ). The first change for a KJCCC school in the poll comes with Highland making a two-spot improvement from 10th up to number eight as the Scotties defeated Labette and Fort Scott last week to improve to 20-2 overall. The only losses for HCC this season are to ranked opponents Johnson County and Allen as the Scotties will play both in the next two-plus weeks of action as the KJCCC schedule flips to the second half of the double-round-robin schedule. Allen also makes a two-spot improvement with a win over Kansas City Kansas on the road in their only action of the week last week. Neosho County remains ranked 23rd for a second-straight week as the Panthers won games over Hesston and KCKCC last week ahead of their matchup on Wednesday night with Johnson County.
After a non-conference game on Monday night for Hesston, an action-packed Wednesday features ranked matchups in both Division 1 and Division 2 action as Hutchinson will travel to Coffeyville and Johnson County will travel to Neosho County for high-profile games. Neosho County will also play in a ranked matchup on Saturday afternoon when the Panthers travel to Highland to take on the Scotties in the lone ranked matchup of the afternoon as part of a nine-game slate on February 8th.
