KJCCC Women's Basketball With Four Top 10 Teams, Six Total Ranked And Two More Receiving Votes
NJCAA Division 1 Women’s Basketball Week 11 Poll | NJCAA Division 2 Women’s Basketball Week 11 Poll
CHARLOTTE, NC – The newest updates to the NJCAA Division 1 and 2 Women’s Basketball top 25 polls finds changes for four of the six ranked Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference teams with two more schools receiving votes in the Week 11 polls released on Monday, February 10th.
Of the six ranked teams this week, four find themselves ranked inside the top 10 of their respective polls with two teams in each of the polls from the KJCCC holding down top 10 rankings.
Despite losses for both Dodge City and Hutchinson last week, both remain inside the top 10 of the latest Division 1 poll with both teams falling two spots to see the Conquistadors occupy the number seven ranking while the Blue Dragons are ranked eighth. The biggest mover among KJCCC schools this week in either poll is Coffeyville as the Red Ravens take advantage of their victory over Hutchinson to move up five spots from number 22 up to number 17 in this week’s poll as the Red Ravens hold a 19-3 overall record while sporting a nine-game winning streak dating back to January 8th. Just outside the top 25 for another week is Butler as the Grizzlies played just once last week with a resounding 84-40 road win at Barton as a three-game schedule awaits BCC this week beginning on Monday evening.
One of three undefeated teams remaining in NJCAA Division 2 women’s basketball, Johnson County remains unchanged as they have all year by holding the number two spot in the NJCAA Division 2 poll The Cavaliers picked up another two wins last week to improve to 25-0 on the season and have won 59 of their past 60 games with their only loss during the stretch coming to Kirkwood in the 2024 NJCAA Division 2 National Championship game last season. Following a two-spot bump last week, Highland remains number eight for a second-straight week as the Scotties are 21-2 overall with both losses coming to teams ranked in the top 11 of the latest poll. Allen is up one spot from 12th up to 11th this week as the Red Devils went 2-0 last week with a pair of road victories ahead of this week’s schedule that will see them end their week at number two Johnson County. Losses last week to Johnson County and Highland drops Neosho County out of the polls as the Panthers are still receiving votes with both of their recent losses coming to top 10 foes.
A busy schedule for the week gets underway on Monday evening with one game in both Division 1 and Division 2 action before seeing two more games take place Tuesday night as teams begin to shuffle their games in anticipation of a winter storm system that is scheduled to impact the state of Kansas Tuesday night into Wednesday. As of now, eight games are scheduled for Wednesday followed by a 10-game Saturday, with any changes that occur being announced by the impacted schools as they take place.
