Minor Movement In Latest NJCAA Top 25 Polls Keep Things Relatively Unchanged For KJCCC Schools
NJCAA Division 1 Women’s Basketball Week 12 Poll | NJCAA Division 2 Women’s Basketball Week 12 Poll
CHARLOTTE, NC – Minor movement for Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference women’s basketball teams has occurred as part of the latest NJCAA Women’s Basketball Division 1 and 2 Top 25 polls released on Tuesday, February 18th.
With no changes to the number of teams ranked, the KJCCC continues to see three teams ranked and a fourth receiving votes in the latest NJCAA Division 1 poll while four teams are ranked inside the top 25 of the newest Division 2 poll.
Only one change occurred for any of the three teams that are ranked in the Division 1 poll with Coffeyville moving up one spot up to their best ranking of the season by coming in with the number 16 ranking as the Red Ravens are 21-3 overall on the year to go along with a current 11 game winning streak. Unchanged from the KJCCC in the poll is Dodge City who is ranked number seven and Hutchinson who is ranked number eight as both teams continue to remain tied atop the KJCCC standings with Dodge City currently holding the head-to-head tiebreaker by virtue of their win over the Blue Dragons.
The only team to maintain their ranking from the KJCCC in the latest NJCAA Division 2 top 25 poll is Johnson County as the Cavaliers escaped last week with a pair of come-from-behind victories to stay unbeaten with a 28-0 overall record to keep their number two ranking. Both of Johnson County’s wins last week came against ranked foes which accounts for two of the three changes to the rankings for conference schools as Highland drops one spot down to ninth with a 23-3 overall record while Allen falls one spot from 11th down to 12th. Also ranked in this week’s poll is Neosho County with the Panthers falling two spots down to number 25 in the rankings.
A week that has been filled with games that were postponed from the prior week along with additional changes due to weather that has made its way through the state has created a hectic schedule as a pair of conference games took place on Monday prior to the release of the polls on Tuesday followed by a five-game slate for Wednesday night. Three other conference clashes that were scheduled for Wednesday have been postponed to Thursday with a more traditional nine-game schedule set to take place on Saturday afternoon and evening across the league.
