NJCAA Division 1 Women’s Basketball Week 14 Poll | NJCAA Division 2 Women’s Basketball Week 14 Poll
CHARLOTTE, NC – In the final NJCAA Women’s Basketball top 25 polls of the 2024-25 regular season, the Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference saw four conference teams ranked among both the Division 1 and Division 2 polls released on Monday, March 3rd.
The eight total teams ranked this week include only the top teams from the KJCCC in each poll holding their same ranking as last week with the remaining five teams that were ranked last week each receiving a new ranking while seeing Butler Community College move from those receiving votes into the Division 1 top 25 this week.
After clinching at least a share of the KJCCC regular season title on Saturday, Dodge City remained number seven in the rankings for a third-straight week as the Conquistadors will conclude their regular season on Wednesday evening with a trip to Hutchinson. The Blue Dragons are ranked ninth this week and back into the top 10 after going 2-0 last week with wins over Pratt and Seward County to improve to 26-3 overall this season. Coffeyville suffered a two-spot drop in the rankings for a second-straight week and is now ranked 20th after splitting a pair of games last week with a win over Seward County and road loss to Dodge City. Butler is back into the rankings for the first time since the week three poll on November 25th as the Grizzlies are ranked 23rd this week after clinching a first-round bye in the NJCAA Region 6 Tournament with wins over Garden City and Cloud County last week.
Finishing the regular season a perfect 30-0, Johnson County remains ranked number two this week in the latest NJCAA Division 2 Women’s Basketball Top 25 poll as JCCC will next play in the NJCAA Region 6 Tournament semifinals against a to-be-determined opponent on Friday afternoon. Up two spots this week to 10th is Allen as the Red Devils picked up a big home win over Highland last week to conclude their regular season at 19-4 overall heading into the postseason. Highland falls three spots down to 11th after bouncing back from their loss to the Red Devils with a road win at Fort Scott. Also in the rankings from the KJCCC is Neosho County as the Panthers moved up one more spot to number 21 this week after finishing the regular season with a 19-7 overall record.
Postseason play kicks off the week of play for the KJCCC with three NJCAA Division 2 Region 6 Tournament games taking place on Monday night, with the three winners moving on and joining Johnson County in the semifinals that are scheduled to take place on Friday, March 7th in Overland Park. The final regular season games for Division 1 KJCCC teams will take place on Wednesday, March 5th, with the schedule highlighted by number seven Dodge City hosting number nine Hutchinson in a de facto regular season conference title game as a Blue Dragon win will result in a co-conference championship for both teams. The official NJCAA Division 1 Region 6 Tournament bracket will be released following the conclusion of all games on Wednesday night with the opening round of the tournament set to take place on Saturday, March 8th.
