KJCCC Women's Basketball Players of the Week - Week 6
COLBY, Kan. – Top-10 nationally ranked teams Dodge City Community College and Highland Community College posted 2-0 weeks with Kansas Jayhawk Community College Players of the Week Tayah Morgan and Cameron McNamara leading the way for their respective teams.
Tayah Morgan – Dodge City (KJCCC Division 1 Women’s Basketball Player of the Week)
Dodge City women's basketball continued to roll in KJCCC action improving to 6-0 with wins over Pratt and Seward County. Tayah Morgan had another strong week starting with a career-high 28 points on 10-15 shooting including eight-of-12 three-pointers in a win over Pratt adding one rebound, one steal, and two assists. She followed that up with 16 points on six-of-11 shooting, five rebounds, and one assist in a win over Seward County. On the season Morgan is averaging 14 points per game on 47 percent shooting and 44.9 percent from three-point range, while adding 3.5 rebounds and 2.9 assists per game. She ranks seventh in the NJCAA in made three-pointers with 40.
Cameron McNamara – Highland (KJCCC Division 2 Women’s Basketball Player of the Week)
McNamara picked up her first double-double of the season in Highland's 82-48 win over Central to complete the season sweep, scoring 17 points with 15 rebounds. The sophomore added 16 points with a perfect four-of-four free throw shooting against Southeast on Saturday.
