NJCAA Wrestling Preseason Rankings Have 4 KJCCC Teams, 15 Individual Wrestlers Ranked
COLBY, Kan. – With the opening weekend of the 2024-25 NJCAA wrestling season already complete, the NJCAA has released the first NJCAA wrestling rankings of the season with two teams ranked in the top five and four total teams ranked in the preseason poll released Wednesday, November 6th.

COLBY, Kan. – With the opening weekend of the 2024-25 NJCAA wrestling season already complete, the NJCAA has released the first NJCAA wrestling rankings of the season with two teams ranked in the top five and four total teams ranked in the preseason poll released Wednesday, November 6th.
Leading the charge within the Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference is Fort Hays Tech Northwest who is tied for second in the preseason poll with 50 total points to trail only top-ranked North Idaho who earned the top spot with 68 total points. The Tigers have two wrestlers that top their respective weight classes with Otgonbayar Batsuuri (174 pounds) and Lazaro Crespo (184 pounds) each coming in as top-ranked wrestlers along with John Kenney at 133 pounds who is ranked third.
Coming in ranked number four with six wrestlers ranked within the top eight of their respective weight classes is Labette as the reigning NJCAA South Central District Champions have Corban Zugelder (fourth, 125 pounds), Marcus Terry (fifth, 133 pounds), Davion King (fifth, 157 pounds), Cannon Carey (third, 165 pounds), Matthew Marcum (second, 197 pounds), and Gabe Kant (fifth, 285 pounds) each helping to contribute to the 48 point total that LCC scored in the preseason poll.
Also ranked in the preseason team rankings from the KJCCC are Cloud County (tied 11th) and Cowley (tied 15th) as both the T-Birds and Tigers have three ranked wrestlers each. Cloud County has Easton Boone (second, 165 pounds), Mac Chambers (sixth, 174 pounds), and Darian Gillins (fifth, 197 pounds) while Cowley is represented by Beau Murphy (sixth, 125 pounds), Ryker Agee (sixth, 141 pounds), and Jacen Jackson (sixth, 157 pounds).
To earn a team ranking within the NJCAA Wrestling rankings, teams must have a ranked wrestler with each position in the individual rankings being associated with a point total that goes towards the team total.
