Four KJCCC Wrestling Teams Ranked In First NJCAA Regular Season Poll

CHARLOTTE, NC – As the first month and a half of the NJCAA wrestling season begins to wind down, the NJCAA National Office has released the first regular season wrestling poll of the season with four Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference wrestling teams continuing to hold top rankings within the top 25.
There was no shortage of changes within the poll as teams have officially had results to count towards the rankings with Fort Hays Tech Northwest still leading the way for the KJCCC by coming in with the number six rankings with 50 total points. Joining the Tigers ranked in the top 10 of the latest rankings is Labette holding the number nine ranking after securing 30 total points while Cowley is tied for 20th with six points and Cloud County is tied for 24th (5 points).
In the individual rankings, the conference has ranked wrestlers in nine of the 10 weight classes with 12 wrestlers from the KJCCC in the top 10 of their respective weight classes. The highest-ranked wrestlers once again represent Fort Hays Tech Northwest as both Otgonbayar Batsuuri (174 pounds) and Lazaro Crespo (184 pounds) are the top-ranked wrestlers in their weight classes and are joined by teammates Job Lee (third at 157 pounds) and Dayton Bell (fourth at 165 pounds). Labette has the most ranked wrestlers of any KJCCC school with five as Jordan Cullers (141 pounds), Davion King (157 pounds), and Matthew Marcum (197 pounds) are all ranked fourth while Talan Braswell is ranked seventh at 149 pounds and Gabe Kant is ranked ninth at 285 pounds. Three other schools each have one ranked wrestler, with Evan Rodriguez (Cowley) ranked fifth at 141 pounds, Mac Chambers (Cloud County) ranked sixth at 174 pounds, and Zane Donley (Pratt) ranked seventh at 125 pounds.
