Johnson County's Maddox Fergus, Taylin Stallbaumer Earn NJCAA National Player of the Week Honors
CHARLOTTE, NC – After being named the Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference Division 2 Women's Soccer Goalkeeper of the Week and Women’s Volleyball Offensive Player of the Week on Tuesday, Johnson County Community College’s Maddox Fergus and Taylin Stallbaumer have earned NJCAA National honors for week three of their respective seasons.
CHARLOTTE, NC – After being named the Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference Division 2 Women's Soccer Goalkeeper of the Week and Women’s Volleyball Offensive Player of the Week on Tuesday, Johnson County Community College’s Maddox Fergus and Taylin Stallbaumer have earned NJCAA National honors for week three of their respective seasons.
Maddox Fergus (Johnson County) - NJCAA Division 2 Women’s Soccer Goalkeeper of the Week
Fergus saw action in only one match last week but stopped all six shots she faced to post a 3-0 shutout over number eight ranked Iowa Central. The shutout was her second of the season and ninth of her career as Fergus has not allowed a goal in the past 180 minutes she has played in net for the Cavaliers. Fergus has earned KJCCC Division 2 Women’s Soccer Goalkeeper of the Week honors twice this season and joins teammate Maya Wallace in earning National Player of the Week honors for the Cavaliers this year.
Taylin Stallbaumer (Johnson County) – NJCAA Division 2 Volleyball Offensive Player of the Week
Stallbaumer had another big weekend leading the number two ranked Lady Cavaliers offensive attack by producing 156 assists, an average of 8.21 per set. Stallbaumer topped double digits in all five matches, highlighted by a season-high 45 assists in a 3-1 win over number three Parkland. Stallbaumer also tallied 52 digs, twice recording double figures as JCCC is now 10-0 on the year with six wins over teams that are currently ranked. Stallbaumer has earned KJCCC Division 2 Volleyball Setter of the Week honors all three weeks of the season and is currently 19th in NJCAA Division 2 with 297 set assists through 10 matches.
