Neosho County Soccer Sweeps NJCAA D2 Soccer Offensive Player of the Week Awards
CHARLOTTE, NC – Two Kansas Jayhawk Community College Division 2 Soccer Offensive Players of the Week in Neosho County’s Olivia Gibson and Callum Niven have earned NJCAA Division 2 Soccer Offensive Player of the Week honors for their performances throughout week nine of the 2024 season.
CHARLOTTE, NC – Two Kansas Jayhawk Community College Division 2 Soccer Offensive Players of the Week in Neosho County’s Olivia Gibson and Callum Niven have earned NJCAA Division 2 Soccer Offensive Player of the Week honors for their performances throughout week nine of the 2024 season.
Olivia Gibson – Neosho County (NJCAA Division 2 Women’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week)
Gibson netted six total goals last week across two matches and tallied 15 total points after assisting on three other goals. The sophomore's goal against Allen opened the scoring and proved to be the game-winner in a 2-0 Panther win against the Red Devils as Gibson leads KJCCC D2 women's soccer in goals (19) and points (41), both of which rank in the top 20 in NJCAA D2 women's soccer this season.
Callum Niven – Neosho County (NJCAA Division 2 Men’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week)
Niven scored six goals in last week's game against Southeast Community College and added the only goal of the match in a 1-0 home win against Allen to lead Neosho to a 2-0-0 week. Niven's six goals against Southeast came in a 9-0 Panther win against the Bobcats before netting the only goal in a 1-0 win on Saturday against Allen to help Neosho County clinch the KJCCC D2 men's soccer regular season title. After adding 14 points last week, Niven leads KJCCC D2 men's soccer in goals (15) and points (38).
