2024-25 All-KJCCC/Region 6 Division 1 Women's Soccer Awards Announced
COLBY, Kan. – The 2024-25 Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference/NJCAA Region 6 Division 2 postseason women’s soccer selections are led by Coach of the Year Shawn Uhlenhake of Kansas City Kansas, with Cowley sophomore Hina Suzuki named Offensive Player of the Year and Hutchinson freshman Anastasia Pokrandt named Defensive Player of the Year.
2024 All-KJCCC/NJCAA Region 6 Division 1 Women’s Soccer Selections
COLBY, Kan. – The 2024-25 Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference/NJCAA Region 6 Division 2 postseason women’s soccer selections are led by Coach of the Year Shawn Uhlenhake of Kansas City Kansas, with Cowley sophomore Hina Suzuki named Offensive Player of the Year and Hutchinson freshman Anastasia Pokrandt named Defensive Player of the Year.
Shawn Uhlenhake – Kansas City Kansas (KJCCC Division 1 Women’s Soccer Coach of the Year)
Uhlenhake led Kansas City Kansas to their second KJCCC Division 1 women’s soccer regular season title in program history after finishing with an 11-0-5 record in conference play to finish tied with Butler for the regular season crown. The Blue Devils were the only KJCCC Division 1 women’s soccer team to finish the regular season unbeaten by going 13-0-5 in the regular season with eight victories in conference play by shutout. KCKCC opened the season with four straight victories before seeing three of their next five matches end in draws as the Blue Devils went on to win eight of their final 10 matches of the regular season.
Hina Suzuki – Cowley (KJKCCC Division1 Women’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Year)
Suzuki finished tied for the KJCCC Division 1 women’s soccer lead in goals scored with 18 goals, 16 of which came in conference action. The sophomore also had four assists to tally 40 total points on 57 total shots while scoring six game-winning goals this season. Nationally, Suzuki ranks third in NJCAA Division 1 Women’s Soccer in game-winning goals, 10th in goals scored, as well 19th in total points.
Anastasia Pokrandt – Hutchinson (KJKCCC Division 1 Women’s Soccer Defensive Player of the Year)
Pokrandt was one of only four Blue Dragon players to appear in and start in all 17 regular season games for Hutchinson as HCC allowed just 18 total goals and had eight shutouts defensively. A key piece on the back line, Pokrandt helped the Blue Dragons rank 30th out of 91 NJCAA Division 1 Women’s Soccer teams in goals allowed and 23rd in goals against average (0.99), and fewest losses since the 2017 season.
