2024-25 All-KJCCC/Region 6 Division 2 Women's Soccer Awards Announced
COLBY, Kan. – The 2024-25 Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference/NJCAA Region 6 Division 2 postseason women’s soccer selections are led by Coach of the Year Jim Schwab of Johnson County, with Allen County sophomore Audrey Smith named Offensive Player of the Year and Johnson County sophomore Emily Crosby named Defensive Player of the Year.
2024 All-KJCCC/NJCAA Region 6 Division 2 Women's Soccer Selections
COLBY, Kan. – The 2024-25 Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference/NJCAA Region 6 Division 2 postseason women's soccer selections are led by Coach of the Year Jim Schwab of Johnson County, with Allen sophomore Audrey Smith named Offensive Player of the Year and Johnson County sophomore Emily Crosby named Defensive Player of the Year.
Jim Schwab – Johnson County (KJCCC Division 2 Women's Soccer Coach of the Year)
Coach Schwab led Johnson County to a second-straight KJCCC regular season title along with an NJCAA Region 6/9 postseason tournament title as the Cavaliers are set to host the NJCAA Division 2 North Plains District Tournament Title game on Saturday afternoon against Iowa Lakes Community College. The Cavaliers finished the regular season with a 14-0-3 record and have been ranked in the top three of the NJCAA Division 2 Women's Soccer poll throughout the season after finishing as 2023 NJCAA Division 2 Women's Soccer National Runners-Up. In KJCCC play this season, JCCC outscored opponents 49-0 and finished conference play with a perfect 8-0-0 record.
Audrey Smith – Allen (KJKCCC Division 2 Women's Soccer Offensive Player of the Year)
The 2024 KJCCC Division 2 Women's Soccer leading scorer, Audrey Smith led the conference with 21 goals, 51 points, and 92 total shots taken this season while ranking fifth in the KJCCC with two game-winning goals. Named the KJCCC Division 2 Women's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week during week six of the season, Smith ranks 11th nationally in goals scored and 12th nationally in points while scoring nearly 34 percent of the goals scored by the Red Devils this season.
Emily Crosby – Johnson County (KJKCCC Division 2 Women's Soccer Defensive Player of the Year)
Helping anchor a Johnson County back line that has allowed just one goal since August 24th, Emily Crosby is one of five Cavalier players to appear in and start all 19 games this season as JCCC has posted shutouts in 16 of their 19 games this season. Of the six goals conceded by Johnson County this season, five came in the opening two games of the year against NJCAA Division 2 top 10 opponents as the Cavaliers posted shutouts in the final 15 games of the regular season. As a team, Johnson County ranks first in the NJCAA in goals allowed (6) and goals against average (0.32) among the 101 teams in NJCAA Division 2 this season.
