Johnson County Women's Soccer Earns #2 Seed In NJCAA D2 Women's Soccer National Tournament
COLBY, Kan. – NJCAA Division 2 Women’s Soccer North Plains District Champion Johnson County Community College has earned the number two seed in the upcoming NJCAA Division 2 Women’s Soccer National Tournament, which is set to take place November 17-23 at John Hunt Park and Joe Davis Stadium in Huntsville, Alabama.
COLBY, Kan. – NJCAA Division 2 Women's Soccer North Plains District Champion Johnson County Community College has earned the number two seed in the upcoming NJCAA Division 2 Women's Soccer National Tournament, which is set to take place November 17-23 at John Hunt Park and Joe Davis Stadium in Huntsville, Alabama.
Spending all season inside the top five of the NJCAA Division 2 Women's Soccer National poll, the Cavaliers have been put into Pool "B" along with seven seed and Midwest District Champion Rock Valley College and 11 seed and East District Champion Anne Arundel Community College. Johnson County is ranked number two in the final NJCAA Division 2 Women's Soccer poll released on October 28, 2024 while Rock Valley was ranked number 13 and Anne Arundel was receiving votes with 10 of the 12 teams who qualified for the National Tournament ranked in the final regular season poll.
JCCC is one of two teams to go through the regular season and district tournaments with an unbeaten record, entering the National Tournament with a 17-0-3 overall record. Rock Valley College is 17-2-1 overall with their losses to number three ranked Heartland Community College and number seven ranked Schoolcraft College, both of whom made the National Tournament and were placed in pools "C" and "D". Anne Arundel holds a 13-2-1 overall record and enters the national tournament on a nine-match winning streak while ranking 34th in NJCAA Division 2 Women's Soccer in goals scored (48).
The Pool "B" schedule will see Johnson County take on Rock Valley at 1:30 PM (EST) on Sunday, November 17th in the second match of the tournament before seeing Rock Valley take on Anne Arundel at 1:30 PM (EST) on Monday, November 18th. Pool "B" action will conclude on Tuesday, November 19th when Johnson County faces off with Anne Arundel at 1:30 PM (EST) as the top finishing team in the pool will advance to the National Semifinals against one of the other teams that advance from either Pool "A", "B", or "C".
All games of the 2024 NJCAA Division 2 Women's Soccer National Tournament excluding the National Championship match will be streamed live on the NJCAA Network (link below) with the National Championship match scheduled to be streamed live on ESPN+.
